Description This team will be working on a variety of projects in the Haiti deaf community, such as educational games focusing on communication skills, Vacation Bible School activities, vocational training, etc. This deaf community is made of approximately 200 deaf and 200 hearing who were displaced from their homes after the earthquake. They are currently living in temporary homes constructed by the International Federation of the Red Cross. The 410 Bridge, our church partners and other foundations are working towards the building of a permanent community for the deaf. We hope each team will have members with sign language skills, but will also have a sign language and Creole interpreter with us. As with all of our trips, the focus is on building relationships with the people we serve and using our gifts to administer God's grace to those in need. You will have the opportunity to interact with local leaders, community members and many children throughout the trip. Note: The cost is $900. The COST DOES NOT INCLUDE airfare to and from a 410 Bridge designated departure city and Port Au Prince, Haiti. Ground transportation, breakfast, dinner, and lodging are included in the cost of the trip. The price for this trip indicates the projected cost dependent upon factors such as team size and flight prices. *The 410 Bridge age requirement for all Open Trips to Haiti is 14 years old (or in high school) and over. Please note, if you are under the age of 18, you will need to travel with a legal guardian.
